Boyfriend Jeans 4 ways
Honestly it can take me a while to warm up to a trend. The first time I see a new ( although is anything ever really new anymore? ) trend come out I tend toward skepticism. When Target started up with those prairie dresses last year It was a hard nope for me. Cut to me in a long floral dress for family pictures last week. Fine Target, you win again. One trend I have loved from the start is boyfriend jeans. I love this j.crew version for it’s slim, *but not too slim* fit. I would say they’re more of a straight leg boyfriend than a baggy boyfriend. Here are three ways I would wear them.
First and most obvious choice for me has to be any type of floral blouse. Contrast the masculine cut of the jeans with a feminine top and boom, done. I am a big fan of the front tuck and I hope it never goes away. Add some bright clogs and I think our work here is finished.
Next let’s dress it up because your office is super trendy and you can wear distressed denim to work. Oh, what’s that you say? That office only exists in movies and the imagination of bloggers? Fine, how about dinner out with friends or a concert maybe? Black Jacket over any kind of graphic t- shirt is instant cool factor. Add some strappy heels to make it a little more feminine and we are good to go.
Moving right along, the shoes are the star of this show. Have I mentioned I love a loud shoe moment? A Striped T-shirt and a beige sweater count as neutrals to me so why not jazz it up with a sparkle shoe? Also, if you love the look of Golden Goose but can’t bear the price tag these are a great alternative.
Lastly, Can’t go wrong with a white button up and heels. If you happen to work in one of those unicorn offices where distressed denim is ok this look is for you. I like adding a little interest with a bright bag and a patterned belt but you do you boo.
