Nars Summer Unrated Eyeshadow palette
I recently tried the Nars Summer Unrated eyeshadow palette. I was initially interested in it because of the variety of colors and textures, and I’ve been on a bit of a warm toned shadow kick.
Overall this is a lovely palette as long as you know what each color is meant to do. Some of the shimmer/glitter colors are probably best applied with fingers, some of the matte colors are incredibly pigmented and you need very little product for a big impact. If you go in knowing that there are many different ways to use this palette you will not be disapointed. If you go in thinking all the colors will apply in the same way, you may end up confused and frustrated.
Another interesting thing to note about this palette is they’ve included their signature bronzer, Laguna, as a shadow, which is a nice touch, and I think shows that they’re listening to how consumers have been using their products.
In the photo above, the shade “love on fire” looks intensely pigmented, but is really more of a sheer glitter, I prefer it applied with finger tip, over another color.
The shade, summer moon (pictured above) in the palette looks like it would be a glitter, but is actually a really intense shimmer. This is why I say, as long as you know what type of look you are going for, and what each shade is meant for, you’ll like this palette.
I like that they give you a ton of options here, with some warm matte browns, pretty shimmers, and intense glitters. Most of the colors are intensely pigmented with good color payoff. Overall I think this palette is worth the investment if you’re in the market for something new and you like a warm color palette. Have you tried this palette yet? I would love to hear what you think of it in the comments!
