Hair products I always repurchase
I’m a hairstylist so I try a lot of hair products. I try to change things up and often integrate new products into my routine depending on what my hair needs, but there are a few products that I have consistently repurchased over the years. These are a few of the products I use on myself and my clients. I’ll start on the left and work my way to the right in the picture above.
- Oribe Imperial Blowout Styling Cream – This one is pricey but it works. One bottle will last me about 6 months. It seems to do 10 things at once, gives beautiful shine and weightless hold while also somehow adding volume. My hair is fine and gets weighed down easily so this is a miracle product for me. Hair products should be applied heaviest to lightest, so I usually start with this product. I usually use one pump and apply it first on the mid lengths to ends and then work my way up to the roots.
- Verb Volume Dry Texture Spray – This is my favorite texturizing spray. I use this to add body and fullness to the interior of my hair. It gives a great light texture and volume without being overly sticky.
- Living proof Perfect hair Day dry Shampoo – I know you’ve heard so many people talk about this one, but in all honesty the hype is real. My scalp is pretty oily and my ends are pretty dry so its a fun combination to work with. Using this dry shampoo I can usually go 2-3 days between shampoos, and that is really all I’m looking for.
- Aquage Uplifting Foam – This is a product I found via Kate Bryan from the small things blog. I have used this for years and honestly I never blow-dry my hair without it. It has a concentrated nozzle that allows you to apply the product directly onto the scalp at your roots. It creates excellent volume at the root with leaving no weird intense hold that a traditional mousse might give you. If you struggle with your hair laying flat against your head this is the product for you.
- KMS Therma Shape – a quick blow dry spray that reduces blow dry time while also providing light heat protection. This actually works, I’ve used it for years and it really does speed up blow dry time. This is another one I use on clients and on myself for every blow-dry.
- Brooklyn Bombshell blowout spray – I’m always surprised I don’t hear more people talking about this one. If you use this correctly it gives great volume and light hold. I spray it on towel dried or lightly damp hair section by section then blow dry with a round brush. This product can also be used on dry hair and activated with a blowdryer and brush to revive hair on the second day.
